Overview
The 1st4sport Level 3 Diploma in Work Based Racehorse Care and Management (Breeding) is ideal for learners who already have experience of working with racehorses and wish to take on more responsibility. It is a stepping stone to a supervisory or management position.
This qualification is a mandatory training requirement for all prospective licensed racehorse trainers and permit holders.
Your learners will gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for horses without constant supervision, an important step in their career development.
This pathway includes seven technical units on breeding.
It is supported by the BHA as the trade association and employers for Horseracing in the UK.
Qualification Progression
Learners could progress onto additional CPD opportunities offered through industry specific organisations.
The Level 3 Diploma in Work Based Racehorse Care and Management prepares learners for positions of responsibility and is linked to Grade A racing wage.
Achievement of the qualification will enable learners to progress to the following job roles:
