Overview
The ECB Core Coach (1st4sport Level 2) is an entry level qualification required to coach independently and without supervision.
With this qualification, learners will gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to coach cricket sessions.
They will learn how to coach sessions using the player-centred planning process.
If your learner is interested in building a career in cricket, this qualification can help them launch their coaching career.
This qualification is supported by the ECB as well as the County Cricket Boards as employers of cricket coaches.
Qualification Progression
Following a period of practice as a qualified coach working in an appropriate environment, learners may wish to progress to the ECB Advanced Coach (1st4sport Level 3) qualification.
This qualification may lead to paid or voluntary roles as a coach; or they may wish to explore other industry-relevant roles which include:
- Cricket Official (Umpire, Scorer)
- Cricket Club Welfare Officer
