Overview
The 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Basketball is ideal for coaching assistants ready to develop their coaching skills to become basketball coaches.
They will learn the principles and practice of safe, ethical, and effective management of basketball coaching sessions, preparing them to take responsibility for planning, delivering, and evaluating linked and progressive coaching sessions.
The knowledge and confidence that they gain will enable them to deliver suitable and enjoyable sessions for both adults and young people, ensuring that they are ready to support the people they coach to develop their skills.
This qualification is supported by the National Source Group for Basketball, comprised of the National Governing Bodies Basketball England, Basketball Wales and Basketball Scotland as the trade association and employers for basketball.

Qualification Progression
Following a period of practice as a qualified basketball coach, learners may also choose to follow a programme of training for the 1st4sport Level 3 Certificate in Coaching Basketball, which has been designed to meet the needs of coaches working with performance players.
This qualification leads to paid or voluntary roles in coaching the sport of basketball to adults and young people children in local basketball clubs, in schools and in colleges.
