Overview
The 1st4sport Level 2 Award in Instructing Cycle Training is ideal for anyone passionate about becoming a Cycle Training Instructor.
They will gain the knowledge and skills to plan and deliver cycle training sessions to groups of adults and children as per the National Standard for Cycle Training, helping to empower a love of cycling.
They will also gain an important understanding of the practical and theoretical aspects of planning, delivering, and evaluating cycle training sessions, ensuring that they can coach with confidence and support people to reach their potential.
Qualification Progression
Learners could go on to complete the:
- 1st4sport Level 3 Award in Developing Cycle Training Instructors
- 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching
- 1st4sport Level 3 Award in Education and Training
The knowledge and skills that learners develop through this qualification can also support them to progress onto qualifications within the sport and physical activity industry, including coaching, leadership, and sports development , as well as qualifications within the education and training sector, such as teaching.
This qualification may lead to paid or voluntary roles as a Cycle Training Instructor to groups of adults and/or children within various settings, such as:
- schools
- sports clubs
- community hubs
- leisure centres.
To deliver the Department for Transport approved National Standard Cycle training: Bikeability, learners must comply with the Bikeability Trust's instructor registration process and requirements.
