The 1st4sport Level 3 Certificate in Coaching Track Cycling is ideal for learners interested in taking on responsibility for the ongoing development of track cycling participants and the growth of the sport locally, regionally, or nationally.

Learners will develop their understanding of the principles and practice of safe, ethical, and effective management and coaching of track cycling programmes, working with individual riders.

This qualification will also support track cycling coaches to aid the development of the sport by contributing to coaching in track cycling facilities and clubs.

It is recognised as the industry standard Level 3 qualification for track cycling coaches by British Cycling, the national governing body for cycling in the UK.

Qualification Progression

Coaches holding this qualification are encouraged to obtain a British Cycling coaching licence.

This qualification is the minimum required to seek employment as a coach prescribing training programmes to individual track riders. Holders of this Certificate may seek employment, paid or unpaid, as a track cycling coach. Key employment opportunities for British Cycling licensed coaches include: coaching individuals or at clubs; Track facility (velodrome) coach; national governing body initiatives and coaching activity schemes.
