Overview
The 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching (Wheelchair Basketball) is ideal for learners interested in building a career as a wheelchair basketball coach.
It is suitable for learners who have successfully completed the Level 1 Award in Assistant Coaching (Wheelchair Basketball) or the British Wheelchair Basketball Grade 1 Coach Award.
They will learn how to plan, deliver, and evaluate wheelchair basketball coaching sessions, either working independently or as part of a larger coaching team.
This will give them a strong grounding in the practical and theoretical aspects of planning, delivering, and evaluating linked and progressive coaching sessions in wheelchair basketball.
This qualification is recognised as the industry standard Level 2 qualification for coaches by UK Coaching and British Wheelchair Basketball.

Qualification Progression
Learners could progress on to the 1st4sport Level 3 Certificate in Coaching (Sport and Physical Activity) or on to another sport-specific coaching qualification at level 2. The skills and knowledge developed through this qualification may also be used to progress to other industry-relevant qualifications in coaching sport, activity leadership, supporting PE in school sport or sports development.
This qualification may lead to paid or voluntary roles in coaching Wheelchair Basketball, working as a coach possibly within a sports club environment.
