Gerry Carr, PhD, is a professor in the School of Physical Education at the University of Victoria, British Columbia, where he teaches biomechanics to PE teachers and coaches. During a noteworthy track and field career, he threw the discus for Great Britain in the Olympic Games.
An accomplished writer, Carr has published six books and more than 30 articles on sport and physical education, including Sport Mechanics for Coaches (Human Kinetics, 2004), which explains the mechanical principles involved in the performance of sport techniques.
