About sports coach UK - Formerly known as The National Coaching Foundation, scUK is the leading organisation dedicated to the development of coaching and coaches in the United Kingdom, and has provided educational and development opportunities for over 130,000 sports coaches. As a registered charity, the organisation has developed a range of titles and workshops to support coaches at all levels.
About the Author - Andy Miles is currently a principal lecturer at the School of Sport, PE and Recreation at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (UWIC). He is the Coordinator of the school's undergraduate modular scheme and Programme Leader for the Sport and Exercise Science Degree programme. Andy teaches a range of subjects, including exercise physiology, sports coaching and sports development.
As the former Head of Educational Services at scUK, he was involved in the development and implementation of the existing scUK workshops and their associated resources. Andy has authored several recent texts on sports coaching, including the Coaching Essentials resource, What is Sports Coaching? He remains an active scUK tutor and trainer, and continues to provide sports science support services to athletes and teams of all levels.
