Overview:
Leapfrog PE Lesson Plans is a series of seven photocopiable books designed to help non-specialist primary teachers implement the complete Physical Education programme for Key Stages 1 and 2.
Each book in the series covers the National Curriculum requirements for each year group and contains: A years worth of photocopiable lesson plans for gymnastic activities, dance and games - ideal for taking out to the hall or playground. Detailed accompanying notes for each lesson to guide, advise and help teachers Information on how to teach PE, its value and importance in the school curriculum, teaching strategies, progression, achievement and assessment.
Year 6 contents include: Gymnastic Activities: Exploring different ways to roll, jump, land, swing, climb, invert, balance and travel on feet and hands, using both floor and apparatus Creating, practicing, refining and performing sequences of linked actions on the floor and on apparatus Demonstrating awareness and understanding of changes of shape, speed, level and direction
Dance Learning to compose and control movements by varying shape, size, direction, level, speed and tension Creating refining and performing dances including those from different times and cultures, with increasing control and accuracy using a range of movement patterns Expressing feelings, moods and ideas and responding to a variety of stimuli
Games Ideas to engage pupils in lively, exciting, sociable and healthy physical activity Understanding, planning and playing competitive individual and team games, covering invasion, striking/fielding and net games Learning and using skills and tactics appropriately when attacking and defending |
