Overview:
Leapfrog PE Lesson Plans is a series of seven photocopiable books designed to help non-specialist primary teachers implement the complete Physical Education programme for Key Stages 1 and 2.
Each book in the series covers the National Curriculum requirements for each year group and contains: A years worth of photocopiable lesson plans for gymnastic activities, dance and games - ideal for taking out to the hall or playground. Detailed accompanying notes for each lesson to guide, advise and help teachers Information on how to teach PE, its value and importance in the school curriculum, teaching strategies, progression, achievement and assessment.
Year 2 contents include: Gymnastic Activities: Developing a range of skills and actions - running, jumping, landing, climbing, balancing, inverting, rolling Performing safely in floorwork and apparatus work Creating, remembering and learning how to improve linked sequences
Dance Developing basic skills - traveling, jumping, turning, gesturing, making shapes, being still - and demonstrating control and versatility Using movements imaginatively to express ideas and feelings and responding to a variety of stimuli, including music Creating and performing dances, including those from different times and cultures
Games Ideas to engage pupils in vigorous, enjoyable, varied and progressive physical activity Ways to use a range of equipment - balls, beanbags, bats, skipping ropes, hoops, quoits Playing and inventing simple games as individuals, in pairs and in small groups |
