About the Author:

Alistair Higham was born in Lancashire in 1965 and grew up in Cumbria. He graduated with a degree in teaching, then played tennis as a professional for two years, ending up in Nottingham in 1989 to be county coach for five years. In 1994 he was appointed as a national coach for the LTA, and has been an elected member of the British Tennis Coaches' Assocn for the last nine years. His initiatives include the BTCA Player Plus tournament - the biggest 13 and under international tournament in the UK. Alistair is married to Joanne, and they have two sons, Andrew and Jonathon.
