Warming-up and warming down are both well established expressions in soccer nowadays which must lie at the heart of any planned sporting activity, be it training or the game itself. Just as every sports car must first be warmed up and every sprinter gets ready before starting, so also must a soccer player prepare himself both physically and psychologically for training and the game in order to achieve his maximum potential and reduce risk of injury.
