Overview:

All coaches should attempt to use or design drills which are as close to the game situation as possible. The more relevant the activity, the easier players find it to transfer the learning to a game. These drills, which have been collated over several years along with many that have been devised and adapted by the authors, will help you to create the right game situations. The drills can be used with players of all ages, simply by extending or contracting the distances shown. Although the main interest of the authors is Rugby League, virtually all the drills are just as relevant to Rugby Union. Indeed, even skills specific to Rugby League, such as 'Play the Ball', can be adapted for use in the '15-a-side code.'
