Reviews:

"Quite simply, this is a terrific book. Professor Jarvie has brought together his research expertise and years of teaching experience and has produced an outstanding book that will prove to be the benchmark by which other contributions to the sociology of sport are judged. The scope and range of the topics, issues and problems covered is impressive and the style and format in which chapters are arranged is engaging and well structured. Tutors and students alike will welcome this excellent textbook addition to the sociology of sport."
Professor Joseph Maguire, Loughborough University, Past-President, International Sociology of Sport Association
